The Primary School held our Second Annual Community Story Time. Our teachers read books and provided activities inspired by the books they read. First Things First attended with information and resources for families and teachers. They provided free books to every child that attended. The Apache County Youth Council provided information on how screen time affects children and gave parents ideas on how to set appropriate limits for children. We are already looking forward to next year’s event! Thank you to our dedicated Primary School Teachers and all who attended the event!

RVMS 8th graders attended the Let's Go To Work event this week in the dome. Thank you to Terry Shove for organizing the event (and for donating the pizza!) RVMS 7th grade ELA teacher, Tawna Brown, brought an excellent lesson to her students today. She took her students through a 3 minute simulation of working in a factory in preparation of reading a historical text about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. It gave students a great understanding of the stress and unfairness experienced by factory workers. Great lesson Mrs. Brown! Thank you for all you do for your students!
RVMS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) represented our school very well at regionals in Mesa last week. Callie Elmer placed 1st in Career Research, 1st place in Learning Strategies, and 2nd place in Career Exploration. Wyatt Tucker and Adyson Brown placed 1st in Marketing, Wyatt Tucker scored 1st place in Exploring Technology, Claire Biggs placed 3rd in Website Development, and Gareth Holliday placed 3rd in Career Research. Next up will be the state competition in April in Tucson. Great job Elks!
