We were asked to share this from Marcelle Donaldson, an amazing remembrance walk in our community:

RVPS Elks Super Star Award!
Carlie Baca is a dedicated employee at Round Valley Primary School. She may have been hired as an instructional kindergarten aide but she has personally extended her duties far above and beyond. She took on the role as our transportation coordinator, spending countless hours organizing aides and teachers and helping to keep our carpool running efficiently and safely for our students. Carlie maintains a cheerful attitude amidst chaos and is a go-to-employee when there are issues to be solved. Carlie has also stepped in as occasion needs to help teach classes, getting her substitute certificate in order to help out. Carlie has desires to be a teacher and while embracing her employment wholeheartedly, she also attends classes to get her teaching degree. Carlie is a valued friend and employee with a great sense of humor and we are lucky to have her at our school! Carlie was nominated by Kristen Gillespie, last year's Instructor of the year for RVPS.

RVMS has teachers recognizing teachers every couple weeks for the Best Teacher Ever award. Jane Finch was our recipient last time and has nominated and awarded Rebecca Kipf, 8th grade Science teacher, as this week's honoree. Jane says, "The Teacher I chose to give the "Best Teacher Ever" Award to, is: Ms. Rebecca Kipf!!!! You are a very dedicated teacher. You genuinely care for your students, and you encourage them to be the best they can be. You are a mentor to many teachers and colleagues. Every morning, you are the first teacher to arrive, and you're always here on weekends preparing for your classes for the upcoming week. You are kind and caring, We love your quick wit! You have brought smiles and happiness to all of us! You took a leap moving here from Colorado, but Oh! How thankful we are that you did, and that you have chosen to stay! We love you, and appreciate you!" Congratulations Ms. Kipf, we appreciate you! ❤️

The fire alarm at RVMS went off today at 11:30 a.m. The building was evacuated and the fire department was quick to respond. Dust from the construction area in the locker room is what set the alarm off. All students and staff are safe and we thank everyone for their quick response!

RVMS is excited to have teachers recognize teachers this year every couple weeks! Our Instructor of the Year last year, 8th grade Civics and Agriculture teacher, James Sherwood, started our year with the "BEST TEACHER EVER" block. He nominated and handed it off to Jane Finch, our Sewing teacher and Librarian. He said, "The teacher I want to give the best teacher ever award to, is Jane Finch, she is great at stepping in and helping at any time, she knows and cares for the students and she teaches them many things, her sewing class has always been great to see the students that take that class and how much they enjoy it and learn and produce real neat things, Jane Finch is a brick! We all love you and thank you for your work!" Thank you Mr. Sherwood and thank you Mrs. Finch for all you do for our students! Go Elks! ❤️

Huge shout out to our RVES Elk Award Scooter Winners. We did not get to hand these out at the end of the school year due to the fire. Our winners for the 2025 school year are Dixon Hooper and Mellee Smith. They had a great year and got their names put into the Elk Awards many times. Great job! We will do it again this year, so earn those Elk Awards!
We had a great start to our school year. Mr. Lozoya sported several of his many hats. Ms. Sunshine was shining brightly! So excited for a fun year with an awesome group of kids and staff!
