RVPS Elks Super Star Award!
Carlie Baca is a dedicated employee at Round Valley Primary School. She may have been hired as an instructional kindergarten aide but she has personally extended her duties far above and beyond. She took on the role as our transportation coordinator, spending countless hours organizing aides and teachers and helping to keep our carpool running efficiently and safely for our students. Carlie maintains a cheerful attitude amidst chaos and is a go-to-employee when there are issues to be solved. Carlie has also stepped in as occasion needs to help teach classes, getting her substitute certificate in order to help out. Carlie has desires to be a teacher and while embracing her employment wholeheartedly, she also attends classes to get her teaching degree. Carlie is a valued friend and employee with a great sense of humor and we are lucky to have her at our school! Carlie was nominated by Kristen Gillespie, last year's Instructor of the year for RVPS.

RVMS has teachers recognizing teachers every couple weeks for the Best Teacher Ever award. Jane Finch was our recipient last time and has nominated and awarded Rebecca Kipf, 8th grade Science teacher, as this week's honoree. Jane says, "The Teacher I chose to give the "Best Teacher Ever" Award to, is: Ms. Rebecca Kipf!!!! You are a very dedicated teacher. You genuinely care for your students, and you encourage them to be the best they can be. You are a mentor to many teachers and colleagues. Every morning, you are the first teacher to arrive, and you're always here on weekends preparing for your classes for the upcoming week. You are kind and caring, We love your quick wit! You have brought smiles and happiness to all of us! You took a leap moving here from Colorado, but Oh! How thankful we are that you did, and that you have chosen to stay! We love you, and appreciate you!" Congratulations Ms. Kipf, we appreciate you! ❤️

RVMS received a donation of ride wristbands and punch card passes. Teachers nominated students who have shown excellence in citizenship, kindness, and inclusiveness within our first few weeks of schooland 4 names were drawn from those nominations. Congratulations to Olivia Bell, Linzi Whitaker, Adyson Brown, and Julio Escarcerga! Thank you to Jennifer Frieden with the Apache County Fair for making this possible for our students!

Big shoutout to Pima Federal Credit Union for collecting and donating school supplies to our schools. RVES is super grateful to everyone for supporting this and our schools.

RVMS would like to give a HUGE thank you to Pima Federal Credit Union and the Forest Service office for their school supply donations to our students! Thank you for your support! ❤️

The fire alarm at RVMS went off today at 11:30 a.m. The building was evacuated and the fire department was quick to respond. Dust from the construction area in the locker room is what set the alarm off. All students and staff are safe and we thank everyone for their quick response!
RVMS Club day today during ELKS Time. Every student belongs to a club and rotates clubs every 9 weeks. Our teachers love this time with students, building positive relationships. Club options include: Running/Conditioning, Legos, Relaxation/Yoga, Skateboarding, Cosmetology, Acting/Theater, Dungeons and Dragons, Hunter Education, Movies into Books Art, Sports, Reading Challenge, Strategy Board games, Dot Mandela's, Trivia, Competitive Volleyball, Card Making/Crafts, Gardening, and Let's Go Elks. RVMS is excited to have teachers recognize teachers this year every couple weeks! Our Instructor of the Year last year, 8th grade Civics and Agriculture teacher, James Sherwood, started our year with the "BEST TEACHER EVER" block. He nominated and handed it off to Jane Finch, our Sewing teacher and Librarian. He said, "The teacher I want to give the best teacher ever award to, is Jane Finch, she is great at stepping in and helping at any time, she knows and cares for the students and she teaches them many things, her sewing class has always been great to see the students that take that class and how much they enjoy it and learn and produce real neat things, Jane Finch is a brick! We all love you and thank you for your work!" Thank you Mr. Sherwood and thank you Mrs. Finch for all you do for our students! Go Elks! ❤️

RVMS is ready for some Football and Softball! Our players and coaches have been working hard! Go Elks!

Huge shout out to our RVES Elk Award Scooter Winners. We did not get to hand these out at the end of the school year due to the fire. Our winners for the 2025 school year are Dixon Hooper and Mellee Smith. They had a great year and got their names put into the Elk Awards many times. Great job! We will do it again this year, so earn those Elk Awards!
We had a great start to our school year. Mr. Lozoya sported several of his many hats. Ms. Sunshine was shining brightly! So excited for a fun year with an awesome group of kids and staff!

We have our first walk to school day this week, Wednesday, August 13th, starting at the Public Library, at 7:00 am. Thank you to AZ Health Zone and Apache County Public Health Services for helping out. We welcome volunteers to walk with students from the library to the school.
Also, we have a new email that we would like all parents to use for transportation changes. If you need to change how your child will go home, please email them to rves_transportation@elks.net This allows us to have all notices in one location to ensure your child goes home correctly. Thank you all for adjusting to the new flow of traffic for drop-off and pick-up. The transition has gone better than expected.

RVPS Staff is excited to see all of the smiling faces tomorrow morning! It’s going to be a great year!
** We are excited to have our playground updated with turf. Installation took longer than expected, but students will still have the basketball courts and other outdoor play areas available. The playground equipment area will open back up shortly.
Go Elks!

Schedules will be handed out, students will be able to walk their schedule, teachers are available to meet students and parents, and questions answered to help make the first day successful. 6th graders need to bring proof of residence. We are excited to see everyone! GO ELKS! ❤️

RVMS teachers and staff are excited to welcome our students back for the best year EVER! Thank you to Liana's Cookie Co. for the yummy cookies for our meeting. Go ELKS!!! ❤️

We want to inform everyone of some changes we have made with our RVES parking lot. The parking lot in front of the school has a fire lane up against the sidewalk that runs across the front of the building, please do not park along this curb.
The Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up has changed direction of traffic. You will enter the parking lot from the South and exit on the North end. Why did we do this? This allows for students to be dropped off closer to our building, which will help on cold weather days. It also allows for students in the passenger seat to be dropped off/or picked up nearest to the sidewalk. This prevents students from having to walk around and in between vehicles. Turning north (right) as you exit the parking lot is highly discouraged. It may cause a backup with buses and crosswalks and delay your exit. Thank you for your patience as everyone learns the new path. Looking forward to a great year!
