The elementary school was able to have a Skydome Planetarium come for a fun and exciting learning enrichment program. The students were able to learn more about our planets and their moons as well as the stars and a few stories about some constellations. The students loved learning in a different way to help them further understand the solar system! We hope that with enrichment programs like this, the students will have fun learning memories to help them enjoy learning about the solar system in their classrooms! Every child left the planetarium yesterday extremely excited about what they had learned! Thank you to Slade Morgan, Sadie Slade, BillyJo Walker, and Cass Pond for organizing this for our students!

RVES honored our Veterans with patriotic songs, Proud to be an American essays, thank you letters, and student created decorations at our Veterans Day Program. We were honored to have Mr. Kortan lead our student body in The Star Spangled Banner on the trumpet. We also had Mr. James Zawacki, a proud US Air Force and Vietnam Veteran, speak to our students. He is an Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Inductee, over the last 22 years only 500 of almost 600,000 in Arizona have been inducted! Thank you to all our veterans for your courage, strength and dedication to keeping us safe. 🇺🇸

Fourth Grade states and capitals grade level competition. Congrats to our winners!

Fourth grade classes completed an experiment based on research by Japanese Scientist, Masaru Emoto. One class took two roses and for one week said kind words to one rose and mean words to the other rose. The rose with mean words wilted quickly, and the one with kind words remained pretty.
Another fourth grade class spoke and also wrote nice/mean words to jars of rice. The rice jars with mean words molded and the nice jars stayed white. We discussed that words are powerful when you speak and write/type (such as social media) them. Students agreed WORDS ARE POWERFUL! Thank you to our AMAZING Fourth Grade Teachers for creating such a great life lesson!

In the month of September, First Grade focused on what makes a community. We talked about the people and the places! So many things are needed to make a community fun and functional- from the school to the Sonic 😉. Thank you to our First Grade Team for creating such a fun and creative learning experience!

Fourth Grade does a unit of how we use our senses to learn about the world around us. Part of that unit is about service dogs. We had Sgt. Lopez, Officer White and Officer Piper bring their dogs to do a demonstration for us. “Blue” uses his sense of smell to find electronics like cell phones. “Tip” is a search dog and she used her sense of smell to find Officer Piper who was hiding on the playground. Thank you to Officer White, Sgt Lopez , Officer Piper, and their service dogs Tip and Blue for providing our students with this fun experience! Thank you 4th Grade teachers!
