The Round Valley Preschool utilizes the creative curriculum, a play-based early learning curriculum for preschool aged children. For their developmental milestones, benchmarks, process and development, the preschool program utilizes the Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment Tool. This instrument identifies present levels of performance in five domains, (cognitive, adaptive behavior, physical, social-emotional and communication). This is an ongoing assessment to identify progress, strengths, weaknesses and developmental needs related to a child’s early childhood skills and development. This assessment tools monitors their progress for the propose of providing ample opportunities to learn specific skills in a play-based learning environment.
