Child Find

Some peer models students are being included to be positive age appropriate role models. In return for a minimal cost of $25 a week, they will receive instruction and related services with educational professionals in a school setting using educational materials.

Role models must meet the following criteria:

1. Must be at least 4 years old to be accepted in the program.

2. Have an up to date immunization record and birth certificate on file with the preschool and RVES.

3. Cannot have a sibling in the same family attending the same preschool session. (This is to maximize interaction between special needs and role model students.)

4. Must be a positive role model with age-appropriate speech, language, behavioral and emotional skills.

5. Must be toilet-trained.

6. Fee is $25 a week. It is due at the beginning of each month.

Enrollment for peer model students must be first approved by the teacher, Holly Wilkins. Please email or call her to process enrollment with her first. The preschool does have a continuous waitlist for peer model students. Placements for peer model students fill up very quickly. Please put your child early on the waitlist to guarantee a placement in the preschool. It is never too early to place your child on the waitlist. Once they are on the list and there is an opening for a peer model student, Holly will contact you to have your child come in for a tryout to make sure they meet the previously mentioned criteria and that they are kind and positive role models to our students with special needs.

If you feel that your child may have a developmental delay and/or speech delays, please contact:

Holly will place your child on a “Child Find” list and contact you to schedule an appointment to screen your child to determine if there are any significant concerns with your child’s development. If we do discover concerns during the screening process, Holly will contact you again for a comprehensive evaluation on your child to then determine the areas of concern and if they are eligible for special education services. If your child is eligible for special education services, your child will be placed in the preschool program and will receive their special education services while at the preschool.
