Letter From The Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians:
Welcome to Round Valley Elementary School! We are proud of our dedicated, experienced staff and enthusiastic learners!
Let me begin by introducing myself as I am new to Round Valley Elementary School. My name is Mike McClellan and I have been in public education for 33 years. I taught school in Mesa, Arizona and Berlin, Germany in grades 1-8 prior to becoming an administrator. Before coming to Round Valley Elementary School, I was an administrator in Holbrook, Arizona working at both the K-5 and high school levels.
As demands and complexities of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to insure that our children reach their potential. We believe that all of us – the school and the community – must work together in an extended family environment to insure success for all our students. We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible.
With that in mind, you are invited to be an active participant at Round Valley Elementary School. Whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of the Site Council, or special event volunteer, you are encouraged to be involved! Research on schools clearly demonstrates that parent participation in their child’s school coincides with a greater likelihood of academic success for their child.
It is our desire to keep you informed of all that is taking place at school. Up-to-date and additional information will be sent to you by your child’s classroom teacher and occasional flyers sent home. Please check the school website and Facebook page for information updates as well. If you have questions or concerns that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to give your child’s teacher or me a call. I look forward to becoming acquainted with each of you and developing a strong working relationship with you and your family.

Yours in Education,
Michael R. McClellan, principal

To enhance the safety and protection of your child, we do not accept transportation changes for your child over the phone.
To request a transportation change, we will require the following:
· A written and signed note from the parent/guardian indicating the type of transportation change needed. If your child is to ride the bus to a different location, please provide the address and name of the person of that residence.
· Your child will need to give this note to their teacher when they arrive at school in the morning.
· If you see that you need to make a transportation change after the school day has begun, you will need to come to the school and provide a written request for the transportation change.
· We will not accept transportation changes after 3:00 p.m.
We will work with you in an emergency situation where an unforeseen transportation change is needed. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask for your understanding and cooperation. Again, the safety and protection of your child is our primary concern. We want to make sure your child leaves school at the end of the day and arrives home safely without confusion or any mishap.
