The state of Arizona is requiring
certain grade levels to pass the new AIMS(Arizona’s
Instrument of Measuring Standards) test. Ongoing debate
and questions concerning this test means the grade
levels required to take and/or pass the reading,
writing, and math portions might change. Therefore we
encourage you to check with your
counselors/administrators as to the most up-to-date
information on this requirement.
According to the state rules
concerning the AIMS test, students in certain grade
levels not passing this exam will not be issued a
diploma. Once mastery of the required tests is met,
along with the other local school board requirements, a
diploma will be
issued.
