Kaitlyn Nicole Slade, a senior at Round Valley High School, signed a letter of intent to attend Southwestern Christian University in Oklahoma on a full academic and athletic scholarship for soccer in the amount of $42,000. She received offers from several other schools: Adams State University, Arizona Christian University, Bethany College, Colorado Mesa College, Friends University, Gateway Community College, Glendale Community College, Grand Canyon University, Northern Arizona University, and University of New Mexico. In all, she was offered over $250,000 in scholarships from these universities, but chose Southwestern Christian University because of the campus and the soccer program.
