The Most Popular Lady
The contest for choosing the most popular lady was
held as usual by the staff. It opened on February 21 and
closed March 7.
The candidates were Mildred Hamblin, Maribah Woods,
Beulah Eagar, Alta Mann, Billie Hall, and Launa Hulsey.
Competition was keen from the very first.
In the final vote, Mildred Hamblin was chosen as most
popular lady with 13,000 votes. Maribah Woods took
second place with 10,000, and Beulah Eagar, third with 5,000 votes.
This contest was the most closely contested in any
of those held in previous years.
