Freshman

Freshman Class History
When High School started the 2nd of September, there were about forty-five Freshies enrolled. We were all full of pep and ready to go.
The Sophomores initiated us the 6th of September. The girls were in Home Economics busy sewing and the boys in agriculture studying. They made the boys wear the girls' cloths and the girls wear the boys' cloths. the make us more attractive they put flour on our faces. As usual we were marched around Eagar and Springerville and then made to whitewash the R. V. H. S. But it took more than the Sophomores to make us to it.
About the third week after school began, we Freshies held an election. We elected Josephine Pipkins as president, Marion Hamblin, vice-president and Rex Merrill, secretary.
Later on we planned for a freshman party, and invited all the teachers. We served cookies, punch and sandwiches.
We had a Freshman Carnival Dance on the 25th of April, served refreshments in the Home Economics room, and sold other things. We had a very large crowd.
